I think this is Moss Agate of some sort. Much of the cab around the reddish moss at front center is transparent. Two nice sealed druzy pits add sparkle. The white slash at upper left is a fissure in the rock which I sealed; it is not a structural weakness. It looks as though there is a fracture across the front between the fissure and the druzy on the right. I have tried to break this cab along that fracture and can attest to you that this little cabochon is stronger than I am! Barely visible without the photo lights. Gloria at Wire Treasures wire wrapped this cab into a pendant; you can see it here! 34mm x 14mm x 5mm. Weight: 17.35 carats. Every one of my cabochons is custom cut to take the best advantage of the particular slab from which it is fashioned. Colors may vary somewhat from what is pictured due to differences in computer monitors. Click the image on the right to see the cabochon super-sized... |
